About

Jenny Wilkinson is an independent designer, who specialises in surface design. Her portfolio of work includes wallpaper and textile design. Alongside designing and manufacturing her own range of products Jenny also undertakes individual commissions.
Jenny is probably best known for her Wallpapers-By-Numbers designs. Designed to be hung like conventional wallpaper it can be coloured in using paints, colouring pencils or felt tip pens. The wallpaper and its number guides allow you to choose whether to colour a small section, the whole thing or just leave it blank.
Jenny continues to work on this interactive theme and launched a new range of children’s wallpapers based on the original Wallpaper-By-Numbers range.Jenny’s work is inspired by a more ‘quirky take’ on the typical subject matter for her wallpaper prints. Venus Flutterby looks like an innocent floral print but has a cautionary tale to tell, of Butterflies flying too close to a repeat pattern of Venus Fly traps or her traditional looking wallpaper print that on closer inspection is made up from the outlines of Hammer Head Sharks. Her imagery is often evocative of the distorted world of childhood fantasies.
Her most recent project has been with the design collective grimm++. Working to create a range of products and surface prints based on the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale, Little Red Riding Hood.  Continuing the playful nature of her work and design inspiration.
